The Alamosa to La Veta train is now powered by steam on the weekends. Although I enjoyed my ride over La Veta Pass last summer I had not planned on returning right away. The lure of a steam locomotive was too much to pass up, however. So I was back to ride the San Luis & Rio Grande Scenic Railroad the first Saturday in June.
